Recently, we both finished a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I always call him Jackie Chan accidentally and I can't seem to stop myself from doing so. Francis Chan is a dynamic speaker, and much of his speaking style carries over into his writing. He is very passionate. This book both challenged and inspired us in so many ways.
I love how he describes the awesomeness of God. I actually think the book did a better job of painting a picture in my mind, but here's a video by John Piper if you want to see pictures/hear narration.
We were both so challenged to do more; to step outside of our comfortable lives. Jesus didn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to be radical. One of the questions in the book is "What are you doing right now that requires faith?" Another quote- "Life is comfortable when you separate yourself from people who are different from you...but God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through."
This phrase keeps echoing in my head- "What we do in this life echoes in eternity." When we die and stand before the judgment seat of Christ, what will He say? What will you have to show for your time on the earth?
