Last 2 days here

Well, my mom left today. :( We woke up at 4 am, took a taxi to the subway that connects to the airport, waited about 30 minutes till the subway started running at 5:45 AM, and headed for the airport. We had to wait in a long line to check-in, so by the time we got to security, my mom had to rush on in. We had to say a very quick goodbye, which was probably good because no tears were shed. It was too fast. Thankfully, we'll get to see her again in about 3 weeks!

On Monday we went to see the Dark Knight Rises. Then we ate Shabu Shabu for dinner. Shabu Shabu is one of my favorite Korean meals. It's similar to a meat and veggie fondue. You cook your meats and all your vegetables in a pot of boiling broth. Normally, there is one pot for everyone to share from but at this particular restaurant, we each had our own.

Judah had his own good time.

After Shabu Shabu we went to Paris Croissant Cafe and got the Royal Milk Tea Patbingsu. Patbingsu is a shaved ice dish, traditionally made with sweetened red beans and rice cakes on top. We like the fruit ones better though.

Last night was my mom's last night. We went to our friends', Calvin and Ariel's house. They are seriously some of the nicest, most generous people you will ever meet. They constantly give, give, give and never begrudgingly. They have been such a blessing to us through our pregnancy and these past few weeks after Judah was born. They frequently give us a ride home from church, instead of us having to take public transportation. They invite us to their house and also take us on the US military base where they both work. The day after Judah was born, they brought us food and came to see him. They've been a tremendous blessing to us and we really enjoy their friendship. We are definitely going to miss Calvin and Ariel! And their dog/baby Minkee. :)

Last night they had us over to their house. My mom really wanted to try Bulgogi- marinated Korean beef. Ariel volunteered to make it. Mom also wanted to try "Korean fried chicken". Fried chicken is a huge craze over here. So we had bulgogi, fried chicken, and several other yummy dishes.

Minkee was very interested in Judah. I'm not sure if she was trying to be protective of him or she was jealous of the attention he was getting.

The Dark Knight Rises

Yesterday we went to see the new Batman movie- all 4 of us. Judah did great! He stayed in the wrap pretty much the whole time. We put cotton in both of his ears and also covered his ears/head with the wrap so the noise wouldn't be too much for him.

If you haven't seen it yet, you should!

Look at the handsome daddy!

Hello Kitty Cafe

Last week we went to the Hello Kitty Cafe. Maybe someday we can use these pictures to blackmail Judah. Just kidding!

Later that night we went for a walk down by the Han River. During the summertime, they have streams filled with water for kids to play in and people to walk through.

We had newborn photos done when Judah was 8 days old. We're so happy with the results! If you want a high-quality resolution image of one of these to print out, let us know and we can email it to you.
